If you were the innocent victim of a violent crime and you were hurt or injured as a result then the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) may be able to pay you compensation.
Whether or not the person who assaulted you was identified and caught by the police, or was prosecuted and convicted, the CICA can award you compensation of between £1,000 and £500,000 depending on the severity of your injuries.
